We always need volunteer helpers for our weekly Sessions, camps, trips etc, so please help us to keep the Group going by volunteering some time. It doesn’t have to be a regular commitment, but we encourage all parents and family members to help out if at all possible. For this you will need to take out a CRB (now DBS), with the Scout Association, at no cost to yourself.
If you have a specific skill or interest please let us know.
Every Section plans a programme in advance of each term, so offering help as an OH means once or twice a term we can call on you to be on the rota to help with the Session your child is in. This is a great opportunity to get involved in what the young people are doing. Outdoor activities, and nights away require a certain number of adults in relation to the number of young people, so help with these is very necessary. As stated you will need to have your clear DBS check in place before being able to help.
Every role in Scouting requires no prior knowledge of Scouting, as there is a comprehensive, modular training scheme tailored to each role and plenty of support from other volunteers. Everyone that volunteers has the satisfaction of knowing you are helping to provide more adventures to young people! Uniformed roles require to undertake training. OH & Group Sectional Assistants do not require training.
If you are able to help in any shape or form, please contact Simon Preddy our Group Scout Leader to discuss suitable roles we may have.
